Which do you like better - the nook or kindle?

Jessica Dyrud-Henrikson answered

To me it depends on what you are going to use it for other than ebooks, if you plan having apps on your device then you should go with the kindle, the kindle also has more options for free books more often, the NOOK is a good device, but the kindle is newer and more options.

I like the Kindle because of all the special offers they offer. I don't have to worry about offensive advertisements I don't want my kids to see either. I haven't paid for a book download yet!

It depends on what you want to use it for...if you just want an ereader the Nook is awesome, very easy to use and very few glitches but if you want other apps the newer Kindle Fire is a good starter tablet that is also a great ereader.

I tried out both and researched both a lot before buying. I finally bought a Kindle Keyboard and then about 4 months later, upgraded to a Kindle Fire. The Nook E-reader and Tablet has problems accepting books if you find a good deal on a book from another place. Kindle allows you to upload it directly or convert it to Mobi format and then read it. The Kindle Fire allows you a lot more applications. The prices seem to be more reasonable as well. There are a lot more free books: every day I can look through over 200 free books and find ones for my Kindle. They also have great deals all the time. They have one free application a day as well. The customer service is online, on the phone or via e-mail. Any time, any day. Barnes and Noble is A LOT more limited. Both are great with color. Both do have about the same number of books avaliable for sale. Personally, I find the Kindle easier to use, as it doesn't update as much as the Nook. Otherwise, using it is about the same. The Nook does have a slight advantage on the fact they came out with color first, but that is not much I believe. Even though I read mostly, I would go for a Kindle Fire. It is not much more than a e-reader and is wonderful. I hope this helps!!

Kindle Fire is awesome. I've tried many other tablets and readers. The clarity is unbelievable and the ability to use it for web, social, etc are all available.

I love my kindle. I have a friend with the Nook and they said that it doesn't come with the automatic internet access for downloads.
