Sears has many great sets. best thing you can buy online and pick up store. Here are a few I would suggest. Kenmore is the best brand. All these are in your price range.

WhenI don't know what I want, I find the ConsumerGOods.com or other site by googling "top ten washer & dryher" or something like that. I read the reviews & it helps guide me to the benefits I want. It will make a difference what kind of user you are (single person, big family, farmer, city person). Also, if your budget is $1000, you have tons of room. Maytag lasts, you can always find a Sears OUtlet if you don't mind dings. Also, you may not want new units...but used? Understanding what the options are & what they mean is your best bet.

So far, I've had a Bosch, GE, and LG. I've liked the GE by far and it has great ratings from Consumer Reports.

i suggest you prefer quality in buying machines.... long lasting yet elegant.... try below ones =)

I don't have pictures but LG makes some great washer's. The only bad part is the base bottoms would be almost as much as we paid for the set! :)

I have LG front loaders and would prefer my top-loading GE--had those for 8 years without any issues (in fact, the only issue I had with my entire houseful of GE appliances was a $20 DIY repair to the freezer)! The front loading start to smell funny. Look for a "scratch & dent" warehouse in your area. In Indianapolis, Clark's is a warehouse that is brand new appliances that maybe were the wrong color that were installed in new construction...or got a small scratch when unloaded. My entire houseful of matching GE appliances cost $1590, delivered and installed!

I recently got floor models of the Samsung top of the line ($1600 each) for $750 each from PC Richards Liquidation center. I LOVE THEM!!!
